Default Escort Cossie Gearbox

Does anybody know if i can adapt the XR4X4 gearbox into my cossie, as they are mostly the same, and am looking at a cheaper option?

Sounds like a lot of hassle. You can pick up rebuilt MT75's for around £500 IIRC

Jon, thanks mate did'nt realise ford were so cheap for parts. Called in today and they quoted me £556 for a brand new box with a years warranty. Might aswell get the new one for that money! I expected them to qoute me about £1500 or something daft like that

I think the internals are the same/similar, but you can't just stick the box on, there was a guy with username "ders" on the rs owners BB selling a box from a 4x4 sapph cossie for £125 think it had covered about 80k, dunno if it's gone yet tho?

Uhh... very cheap! Is it for a brand new MT75 box, which also fits my Sapphire Cosworth 4x4?

Price in Denmark is around £950 at Ford but it is for a rebuild box and I will have to return my own box to Ford when I receive the new one.
