Lancia Thema Turbo 16v
Anyone know much about em?
I know they the same 200+bhp engine as in the Integrale 16V, and i know they ugly as shit and FWD, but owt else.
They run L8 or P8 managment like cossies dont they?
How are they modding wise?
How strong is the engine/transmission and what sort of power is the std intercooler/turbo/injectors/etc good for?
Hard to get bits?
What insurance group?
Can get em dirt cheap (well under 500quid on a G plate) and im tempted as a cheap mess around.
Tho a minor MOT failiure blue S13 200SX for 300quid ono is calling me... I can see that rear diff being welded solid in my mind right now...

An old bloke in my office at work used to have one
, proper loony he was, full boost everywhere!. Not a bad car but never felt as fast as my mates scoob, guess it was pretty heavy, also seemed to go wrong a lot and spares were about non existant
Anyone ever been in the Thema with a Ferrari engine??
- about as mad an idea as a lotus carlton!!

Rikki- The SX supposedly needs 2 tyres and a windscreen (chipped i think, not missing or a brick thru it
), blue, 300quid ono...
Theres this bit of road i know, about 20miles away, MASSIVLEY wide (around 4 lanes if was an average size road), very steep downhill, consisting of a sharp 90 left, then a immediate sharp 180right, then immediate sharp 180left, and if thats not reason to buy a SX, strip it right out, weld up the diff, fit a 4x4 cossie cooler and turbo, bodge some exhaust onto it, and bash up the boost right up, i dont know what is!!

The 8.32 has a genuine Ferrari engine it it and is very scarce.
The 2.0 turbo was a quick car in it's day - I drove an F reg when it was new and remember thinking it was smoother than a Cossie and didn't feel a lot slower.
Electrics were always a weak point, and rust will have killed most of them by now.

????????? they have galv bodies afaik
engine similar to grale motor but head has smaller valves and ports to give better low down power.
small turbo compared to grale.
get a bleed valve and up fuel pressure abit and have 250bhp
drivetrain is strong
FYI
the Fiat croma, Lancia thema and Saab 9000 all shared the same body just the nose and boot differs.
A better option is the Lancia dedra same 16v turbo motor but smaller body shell.

yea, i was 99% sure all Themas had galvanised bodys and everyone was talking bollocks as usual too
what managment they run?
what turbo?

I never knew they were galvanised, but I suppose the Fiat Tipo came out at about the same time and they made a big fuss about that being galvanised.
Incidentally, the Alfa 164 was the fourth Type 4 car, and they all shared the same platform but the bodies were quite different.
