.....i worked out mine...this is class

....took pipe off rail and put it in a measuring jug turned ignition on and got the 5 seconds of prime which produced 210ml so times by 12 to get 60 secs its about 2.5litres times 60 to make it 1 hr and you get 150lt per hr from pump.


...if thats the way you test it i'd assume this was a std pump and if so whats its max power????

 

no more than stg 1 i'd say. 280ish ?

..the thing is the car was a stage 3 when i bought it BUT i wondered why it was running only 15psi...i now know why!....Fortunately i had the sense to check this flow rate before putting my foot down with Stus stage 3!

 

..actually they test pumps at 5bar pressure dont they? So a std pump i know is around 150 @ 5bar....surely the way i tested it wasnt correct?

I was under the impression to test you ran the car with the fuel return going into a gallon can at idle, and timed how long it took to fill the can ...should be under 5 mins IIRC

 

to test it propertly.

1st
check the voltage's. (whilst engines running and alternator's workin) voltage's at battery, ecu and fuel pump, and check there all within a safe 0.3 volts, and all over 13.0 volts.


2nd
with a fuel pressure gauge, check the fuel pressure after the reg. (do this in the ignition priming 5 seconds)


3rd
Take the tank return off the regulator, and place it in a a 5ltr can, (clean oil can or gerry can)

remove the vacum pipe off the reg, and block it.

start engine, and rev slightly (to make sure battery's chargin),

now get another 5 ltr can, and place fuel line into that one, and time for 30 seconds.

then stop engine, and measure the fuel in the 2nd can.

then do it again to make sure you get the same result within 0.1ml/min.

now refit the return and the vacum pipe.


You can now play with the regulator pressure screw, and raise it to 5 bar, and do the same as above.

Then check the data to Bosch's rated figures (i can get you these if you want )
