Got a series one which is running on LPR petrol at the mo.. The thing is I cant get hold of this fuel anymore down my way..

Is there anyway I can use unleaded fuel without damaging the engine??

 

I would run optimax possibly with an additive of some description

 

LRP is fucking awful fuel. Seen the tests that were done on a SAAB turbo. The engine was shot after being run on it.

It should run on Optimax fine but consult a tuner. May need the head fiddling but what better excuse to polish and port the head while it's off

 

if ur gonna start takin the engine apart may aswell get it converted to unleaded
will b ok on super unleaded or optimax as long as used wiv LRP additive

 

Why cant you just run unleaded and get the ignition set up?

 

I thought if the head had LPG stamped on it above one of the exhaust ports it would run on SuperPlus with no modification?

 

my series1 runs fine on unleaded.i just use optimax,no additives.mines a late 1985.if i cant get optimax i bung in a fivers worth of super from whatever garage,then stick some optimax in when i find a shell garage.

 

It will run fine on super unleaded/optimax.
