Okay, its a blueish kind of smoke, stinks a little, but only does it when braking
Does it when driving normally (not on boost) and driving after boost, and to make matters worse, only does it half the time, so i can pull up to one set of lights, nothing, next set, and it comes out.
Lasts for about 2 seconds, and then nothing...

any ideas??

 

sounds like the turbo dude

 

even when not driving on boost (like between 1000 and 3500rpm)??
and surely it would be smoking all the time if it was turbo?!

 

ur turbo is on the way out ur seals r breaking down

 

it wont smoke all the time if the turbo has gone!!!! the same thing was happening to mine and it was the turbo! smoke under deceleration is a sure sign of turbo failure

Just been to see a mechanic mate of mine, who said its more than likely to be valve stem oil seals. Said for me to have them replaced first which is cheaper too!

i hope to god!

 

9 times out of 10 it will only smoke on start up when the valve stem oil seals have gone
