Default Focus ST170 Owners advice needed

Right as the story goes my mother decided to buy a Focus ST170 on a whim due to the fact she liked to colour

The car itself has just clicked over 10k miles but I sense not all is well. Firstyly the engine sounds pretty rough quite tappy to be honest. Is this common? Even when warm it still sounds quite noisy. I have checked the oil levels etc and its all kosher. I have a 15 year old Vauxhall XE and thats purrs like a kitten compared to this!

I quite like this car and I am considering getting an inspection done on it. Just querying to all you ST lads and laddettes out there are there any common problems/faults i should be looking out for?

I want to get this sorted as its dying for a full exhaust and Bluefin

Cheers

Fad

my ST has done 23000 miles and idles quietly e.t.c, no tapping noises when hot or cold or when at high rpm.

may be worth giving it an oil and filter change but be sure to use the correct grade of oil and of good quality

St's does have a slight tapping noise (noticable on tickover mostly) due to the high pressure fuel rail

Fair play to your mom wanting a full exhaust and bluefin on her car!
