Hi guys
When you lot build 2.1zvhs and use vauxle xe pistons how much bhp can these cope with b4 they melt?

Also i have heard that the good ones from xes (forged Mahles ) are rare as rocking horse poo and normally the xe ones are the cast, do you guys use the cast ones? if so how much power can these take b4 they break?

Aparently the forged Mahles where only made pre 1990 and after that was all cast.

no mahels are actually forged - u want the same as std RST - pressure cast. They are good for 280 reliably - depends how much u take off them.

 

I am asking because i am debating wether or not to put a let ecu loom inlet outlet exhaust turbo onto a std xe engine without having to rebuild it as i cant afford a let engine as they are pritty pricey but u can get a xe engine for Ł150;_)
But have been told that xe engine with the poo pistons wont take that much power and i new u guys use these for your zvh conversions so if u guys run x number of bhp i can use this as a rough guide to how much power they will take;_0

Pistons used are from calibra turbo if that helps, i know little about vaux engines.
