Default Any tips for storing a cossy away!

Im gona have to store the cossie away for a little while (3-6months).

1. Is it best to change the fluids BEFORE i put it away?

2. Are there any additives i should put in somewhere?

3. Does it necessarily HAVE to be turned over once in a while or will it be alright for upto 6 months?

4. Should i leave the handbrake off?

Please feel free to add stuff and advice to this as i dont want it to be fooked after the winter storage.

Many thanks.

I stored my Escos away for over a year and didn't really do anything, it was kept in Carcoon and I left it with an empty tank, I left the handbrake off, I pumped the tyres up when I needed to use it again and had it serviced but thats it
Hope this helps

User some kind of fuel stabilizer in the tank, you can get it from www.frost.co.uk or a decent lawnmower shop / ATV shop

1. yea, change fluids before not after
2. additives dont think so, only fuel as above
3. no not really but not a bad idea
4. yea, in 1st gear and chock it

other than that, pump up the tyres or better still put it on stands and a car cover would be good!

crack a window as well and get it nice and hot inside before you leave it to get any moisture out

i wouldn't leave the fuel tank low. They condensant so get water in them, although a good tank full of fuel won't be affected much i suppose by the small amount of water.

As someone said, pump the tyres up or even put it on axle stands, That way you won't cause flat spots on the tyres.

My concern with not running it would be that the valve stem seals may dry out if you get some oil flowing over them. Dunno just a thought. Don't just start it for 5 mins either. You get condensation in you breather and end up with a blocked gunky breather system.
