I've heard Tom Tom's are very good and are the one's most people comment on - any opinions?

tom tom is very good i use a Garmin iq3600 works very well also but i think i would go for tom tom if i was out to get 1 now

 

TomTom is overall prob the best. Fullpost code search and alt route calculation speed is main plus over the garmin. Garmin has better GPS reciever tho.

checkpoint 3 works well with it too after u enter in the gatzo database no more speeding tickets.

i havce loads of cracked software for them a great little toy

 

then again you could get yourself a pda and get the software off me for a fraction of the price lol

ive got tom tom 5 for my 6680 on a seperate mem card but im waiting for the price of bluetooth gps recievers to come down on fleebay a little bit

Yeah I got myself a tom tom a week or two ago and I think its great.

 

I use TomTom 5 on a Aver N30 pda . It cost me:-

mint condition used Acer N30 pda Ł80
gps receiver Ł45
car mount Ł5

tomtom software aquired from the net Ł0

 

I have TomTom Go 300, which works really well.
Bit disappointed that there is no Ireland coverage though, as I go (and get lost) there a lot

 

gearboxman, download the ireland map then (infact i think ive got it somewhere)

Got Tom tom Go's and Garmin Quest, streetpilot c320 and c330 at work. Tom tom does more but the Garmin is easier to use. Similar prices, not much to seperate them really.

 

I prefer PDA style nav, basicly just because you can do more with them for around the same money if not less that a tomtom go 300

Built in GPS with navman on, but im gonna bin that and install TomTom

 

DO NOT get the TomTom all-in-one units, I've now had 2, both have died

 

Ive got tomtom 5 on my hp 1paq pda best way to do it, fcuk paying Ł400 just for tomtom on its own you can get a pda and by the software alot cheaper, plus you can watch porn on a pda

 

I use a pair of Clarks Pathfinders with a hidden compass in one of the heels
... and a licked finger out of the window ... and the sun, if I can see it

 

Been to look at TomToms but their site's down and I can't tell if my new Sony Ericsson 708i will work with the handsfree bluetooth on the 500 as it says not all phones will work with it - typical!

I prefered the look and functions of the Navman PiN570 which was much nicer in comparison but I guess it comes down to what is best and most useful at the end of the day, plus the TomTom has handsfree so it has a big selling point over the Navman in that respect.
