Default Removing the bleedin lock on a 2WD????

As some of you may know some little shit took my car and then crashed it. Iv now got the car back but obviously not the keys.

My local locksmith can cut me a key to the barrel but i need to bring him the door lock.

So..... how do i get the door lock out without buggering anything else up? Some people have said its just a case of 2 screws on the back to remove it from the door but i think thats being a little optimistic?

Is there any special tools i need or will a few screwdrivers do the trick?

Please help as i need the keys made for tomorrow. Many thanks.

remove door card, unclip door lock guard/window runner then unclip rod from door catch, and finally using a screwdriver remove the spring clip from the back of the barrel and withdraw the lock from the front.
it's that easy!

Steve - Cheers mate, i think il be able to manage that. Will make a lot more sense once iv taken the doorcard off i think.

Dave - Never really bothered to check the boot lock before in all honesty. But i do remember seeing some Torx screws on there, wouldnt that make it harder? If not then how do i remove it?

Cheers gents.

3 bolts to come out then slide the lock holder thingy out that keeps the lock in position then lock will pull out.

We are on about a saff arn't we.

That suggest that there's a set of keys for your motor out there, and you're keeping the same locks?? Personally, I'd change the whole lockset......

I wish i could at the minute but im in a bit of a situation now where i need to be able to move the car freely and that means turning the front wheels. At the minute they're locked at an angle so i cant really do much with it.

But once the car comes back on the road then yes it will have a complete change of locks!

All locks are good as the car was taken with the keys.

mate, swap the fookin locks!!!

he will when he gets the old ones off first, thats why he needs the key making,so he can get the wheels turned and then he can take the barrel out with the key!.

the finis code for a saph lock set is

1661659 for a saph with central locking for upto 1990 price is Ł63.56 and

1667190 for a spah with central locking upto 1993 and the price is Ł70.55

if you strip the barrel down and get the key number the cost for ford to cut a key including the key is 6484853 and the price is 4.14

hope that helps
