dump valve (again)
tried one again and same as before, car ran crap and cut out all the time and wouldnt idle
ive been told its not the dump valve but the car and if it rejects one thenur best just to be without. I was also told that u need to increase the boost for it to work but im not touching it.
Enlighten the ignorant..what can i do cos i really want my car to have one but im not fucking about with it if u know what i mean

do dump valves have any performance gains at all?
my friend keeps telling me to put one on my car but im put off by the noise.
he seems to think it will reduce lag and preserve the turbo...?

dump valves dont give any performance gains and is only worth getting if your running over 20lbs of boost. Although they do is make your car jerk but if you really want one and as somebody said above the dv26 baileys dump valve is probably the best one and if you dont fancy cutting your original boost hose buy a samco boost hose with the dump valve outlet.

I had the twin piston Bailey on mine and although it was hugely better than the diaphragm unit I was using it was still a huge improvement when it was binned. I will not be fitting one unless I absolutely have to.
people put them on more for the 'tischhh' noise than anything else. like its been said not much need for it really unless running massive boost pressures!! me on the other hand like a good wastegate chatter
I got one on mine but its well quite the car runs 22psi .
When i had it set up at jamsport they t pieced the tube to the inlet and ran a tube down to the fuel pressure regulator ? car runs abit crap when i take it off

mst be a twin piston chump valve J, anything else (single piston or diaphragm) is gonna cause probs (saying that any dump valve will cause probs eventually lol)
incae your fitting it wrongly. . .
inlet manifold vacum take off. . piece of hose bout 4" long, T piece onto the other end, bottom of the T piece to dump valve, righthand side of T piece too ECU (and makesure the vacum hose isnt old/brittle/split as the ECU takes a vacum reading from this hose so any defects will cause poor running. makesure all hose is secure and tight fitting, use cable ties if possible. ANY leak will cause the car to idle rough/stall!
I suggest a trip to Glasgow
and a set up at AVA (and i'l guarantee you'll drive away with a smile on your face!, if not we'll arange summik else
joke
)
TBH if you REALLY want a dump valv fitted, then go ahead, but theyre only a gimmick, wont preserve your turbo (unless T4 or above size with loads of boost as said) or make it faster or reduce lag
other thing i can think of if your having probs with the above all fitted proper and not split hose is the dump valve is fooked (if it is the same one you tried to fit)
Has the car got any other mods?
Hope you get it to work ya wee poser

Sorry if this is off topic, i've heard this said a few times and don't understand..
I think flump valves are a tad a gay, but i do stick mine on every few months as i like the noise
