Default PUMA RACING

Have a mate who is thinking of buying a puma racing and slipping some 18's on with a suspension drop. Does it completely screw up the handling of them ??

Is the build quality of these any good, a few he has looked at have already had full re-sprays !!

I don't know of any with 18's on, let alone with a drop, not sure it'd be too good....

Think a 60mm drop would spoil the handling, would look the nuts though

go 40mm

Quite an old post, but I'd like to know where you're going to get the suspension from? FRP's aren't meant to have "lowering" springs put on them, the standard set are Eibachs and they're MADE to work with the car.

It's tuned by Tickford (as I'm sure you already know) and they spent a lot of time on the handling side of things; probably the best point of the FRP itself.

Don't change it.

My FRP and My Fiesta both have FRP suspension on them and handle amazingly. I find it an excellent setup thats harsh but still a nice drive. Handling is amazing but thats benefitted from them having LSD boxes.

As for 'modding' a racing puma they only did the RPJ uprated shocks and retain the eibach tickford fitted springs. As far am I'm aware the only way to source replacement springs is to have them made. and I wudn't trust anyone to do this and I doubt eibach would make a handfull of them either.

Most have resprays but this is common. stonechips kill cars and with them being so rare people prefere to keep them looking mint. I'd prefere a full respray anyday rather than just panels...
