Default Talk about grin factor...........The 205 is an animal

Just took the mMi16 205 through the lanes at some silly speed and i was grinning from ear to ear

I had more fun in the last 30 minutes in the Pug, than i have had in a long time with the 3dr

Roll on the track days

Forgot to say though it's MI16 powered, running 12:1 compression, ported head, 270deg fast road cams, remapped for 97 ron with 7600rpm limit, tubular exhaust manifold and 2 1/4" system. Does 100mph in around 14 secs and tops out at 140mph.

the phrase "back seat driver" works for tiff theres no other way, unless you sit in the boot mate

205 Gti's are great cars, mine was a standard one, but it gave you such a massive sensation of speed, it always felt like you were doing 900mph when you probably weren't! lol I only brought mine because it was cheap and tidy, such great fun though

MI16 ones are very fast, but wasn't really my bag as you had a lot of cam lag? with that engine, my brother's won't really take off until about 4k then will scream along to 7k or whatever they do. I prefered the mid rangey 1.9 8 valve engine, mine would pull along in any gear, even 5th gear at 30mph ultimately the 1.9 8value is a slower engine, but is a lot easier just to blagg round in I think. Personal perference at the end of the day, my brother prefers the MI16

Should be a great track car that will surprise a few! Really nice purchase you jammy so and so!

Damm, wish I hadn't read this post, i'm driving round in a crusty old Escort after someone wrote my 1.9 Gti off for me

Getting some serious withdrawel symptoms now i'm thinking all morning 'I could build a nice silver one up out of the parts left over from mine blah blah.........' got to resist as i'm never going to sort my RS1600i sorted at this rate

Very tempting but i've been putting it off for the last 2 years i.e. it hasn't moved anywhere for that amount of time Besides i'm a sucker for rust buckets pmsl

I thought 'build it cheap', but there is no such thing with old cars, it all ends up adding up......

T15?

That'd be T16 out of the 405T16 then?

So many people get confused between that engine, and the engine out of the 205T16 which is a totally different kettle of fish.
