is a mk1 fiesta SS oldschool?!
just wondering...am i accepted in here with a '81 motor?!
got a W plate supersport, in sunburst. ive got a 140bhp+ cvh coming at the weekend for it (stg 3 BV, ported and polished skimmed head, piper 285 cam, portmatched manifolds, twin 40 DCOEs etc), along with some spax springs, and mk2 xr2 brakes inc goodridge hoses. should be getting the engine fitted over next weekend. gonna be running the 4spd setup for a while, until i can afford a manly 5 speeder! will probably end up getting a peter lloyd zorst system, or a janspeed system.
just been out today spraying up parts of the back end where there were a few scabs, gonna finnish it off tomorow. its only got a few other bits that need doing, and itll be very very nice.
had a load of welding done for the mot, so along with the fitment of a new rear ARB (got an xr2 item en route) and new brake lines itll be mot worthy!
its a pretty nice motor, a few un original bits like big bumpers and stuff but it all looks good, nothing nasty! should be a bit of a weapon with the new engine fitted to!
not bad for a 17 year old id say.

Very clean!
Remember that to fit the 5-speed 'box you need to cut and then box out a section of the passenger side chassis rail. I think the Fiesta Centre still do a weld in kit for this, but it's worth speaking to your MOT man first as a few of them feel this is an unacceptable mod that compromises the strength of the monocoque.
I've seen a Mk1 fitted with a slip from an RS Turbo as well, worth doing at the same time.
A mate of mine from school rebuilt a shed of a Supersport, it was gorgeous until he ploughed it over a roundabout. It was fixable, and I nearly picked it up for £150 - I already had all the parts needed to fix it.
Unfortunately some other guy beat me to it. tied it to a tree and reversed hard to straighten the tie rod, took it for a blast on a wet road and rolled it
Such is life.
