Default Admin controlled Hard Drive....How can i format???

Ive been given an old computer by my mum, as they've just upgraded all the systems at work and its ideal for my 2 young children.

Trouble is the hard drive has admin settings that allowed it to be accessed by several people on a network server via the log ins, and i dont think my 18 month and 3 yr old will get on too well with the log ins

Is there any way of being to format the whole drive and do a fresh install???

any thoughts???

Cheers

If it's an NTFS partitioned drive, then just put it in as a slave on an XP machine and format it using the Windows XP Disk Management feature, or a disk partitioning program like partition magic

Shouldn't do, should also let you delete the partition on there.

wont the windows disk management say its a system partition so it wont format it?
I plugged my HDD (with windows XP OS installed) on it into my Dell XP machine as a slave drive, opened disk manager and just completely wiped it. Worked fine. Did ask me if I was sure I wanted to delete system partition, I said yes, and it wiped it. Then I just went to format, selected NTFS and it did it in a few mins.... Works a charm
