Who knows their ESCORT/2wd suspo parts?? (I dont know quite where to put this post so Mods feel free to move for best effect) Ive been offered a set of 4x4 compression struts to replace my front anti roll bar on my 2wd sapphire, will these fit my car as they are from an Escos so would like to know?? Anybody got pics of where the ARB intersects the TCA so I can se for myself, please show me thanks Mark C.

OK. I just got told by some one tonight that they should fit? Which part is bigger on the 4x4 Alvyn? The bush mount or Comp strut threaded section? I want to hard mount all chassis parts for best handling so Rose joints are in and std rubber bushes are out including the TCA rubbers, can I use 4x4 bushes inside these or???
Alvyn is getting muddled up between the suspension struts (mcpherson struts) and the compression struts that you're talking about
unless it is a track car with very stiff springs and dampers, you need an anti roll bar. you can use some comp struts in combination with the original arb if you get eyes welded on the bottom of the tca's

OK, Im removing the Front AR Bar, want to fit Compression struts like these instead

Not a great picture but...
I want to know if where the Anti Roll Bar fits in this picture, (coming from the bottom left to centre right of pic), will a 4x4 specced Comp Strut fit the 2wd TCA, are they the same/different???

My car will be mostly track, mostly sideways so the front needs grip and great handling. Hope this is clearer?? I cant really afford Blades as Im on a tight budget, so making do with Adjustable TCA`s and 2nd hand 4x4 Comp struts up front if they fit
fairly sure that they're the same and will fit. best to ask Brom@Zoo as he has lots of experience with these sorts of things.
not sure that swapping out the arb for compression struts will give you more front end grip though, particularly without changing the spring and damping rates massively (and changing the rear to match)

Front and rear will be AVO/GAZ coilovers, strut braced front and rear, and should ride Really low to lessen weight transfer
With the Compression Struts up front I am looking for an upgrade for the rear too, something better than welding 2x 2wd rear ARB`s together
Again I cant affod megger exspense so a GpA/GGR/WRC set up is out of the question so maybe Escort Cossie Rear bar (M Rainbird used this??) or custom made solid mount straight bar with Rose jointed link bars to the swing arms?? or ideas??

riding too low will ruin the handling unless you have adjustable tca's up front to correct the camber and adjustable rear arms on the back.
none of this can easily be done on the cheap, otherwise everyone would have done it

Right, AVO/GAZ 2.25" coilovers front and rear, strut braces F+R,
Up front: Compression struts, adjustable TCA`s and poly bushes where I cant use rose joints up front.
These TCAs below are rated at 22,000lbs?? is this good, sounds massively strong to me?
What do ZOO rate theirs at?

Rear: ESCOS Rear antiroll bar, solid mounted rear beam, poly bushes where possible and rose jointed arms for camber/toe etc Tight 7.5" diff, spec yet to be decided. Low ride height cos thats what it needs. Not cheap but now willing to part with some cash, cant build another dog handling motor now can I ?!?
What do you all think??Hmm

Thankyou for the pic
What you got on the back?? Rear beam with rose joints or??

but the compression strut is mounted through the tca where the arb used to be and the arb is now on drop links. looks good.
on mine, the arb is in the normal place, and the compression struts go thru an eye welded on the bottom of the tca. i haven't got them fitted though, as i don't have the brackets for the chassis end.
