Default Bleed valve good or bad??

Just got a bleed valve but after reading up on them not sure weather to put it on or not as some say there good and others say there shit. Ive been told to wined the actuator in a bit as this duz the same job without creating a leak in the boost like bleed valves do. whats the cheap and easy way to increase the boost?? car is more or less standered (s/s and air filter) i know i cant go over 10psi as it's not chipped any idea's people

Adjust the actuator arm, as mentiond wind it in and it will increase the boost. Lob the bleed valve in the bin

But, as you say you need to chip it to raise the boost limit otherwise it's going to overboost and shut you down when you hit over standard psi

Bleed valve are good for easy adjustment of boost,

but not for people who keeps turning them up

I ran an amal valve, then the tuner i used just installed a bleed vlave and its fine

The amal valve just started playing up, after a bar of boost, and made a clicking sound at 2k revs which was annoying

as grimmer said

bleed valves are good but tampering with them can be bad

i have a incar bleedvalve taped to my handbrake for easy adjustment tho

and thats connected to a under bonnet bleeedvalve which i can set a upper limit with, atm upper is 20 psi but i dont use it at that cos the clutch dont like it

the amal valve is basically a bleed valve but elecrtronically control via the ecu

The ecu supplies the amal valve with power to give boost at your set actuator preload

bleed valves are fine as long as they are set up by a tuner and then NOT played with!! the temptation to adjust for more boost can go to far resulting in an engine failure, and you dont want that

after any boost increase, a setup is needed because of the more air entering the engine and u need the fuel to match

So a 2 stage boost is a better idea

I always thought that anything up to the standered ecu limit (around 9-10 psi) you could do without having to get it set up
