Default My RS2000 / Cosworth project

here's my latest car, it started life as an RS2000 but I rebuilt it to an RS Cosworth, it took me a while to complete as trying to get all genuine ford parts was a nightmare but it's been well worth the wait.

here's a few pics

quite like the look of an esc coz with a mk6 dash. I hate the mk5 dash with a passion.

What engines in it?

Now thats cool, never seen anything along those lines before.

Only thing you need to do to make it more genuine is to get some opening rear quarter windows and get the rear wheels to fill the arches more.

its has spacers on at 10mm on each wheel. reason for the 10mm and no more is for performance, it's got a full customized suspension kit on it and if i were to out it anymore it would mean changing whole suspension/camber layout.

I was thinking of doing that alright, still haven't made my mind up about it thou. More than likely it will be one of those spur of the moment decisions

just thought i'd let you all know that this is the colour it was going to be at first, a flip blue

when this blue paint set i realised that the binder was off in the paint so i had to redo it. sprayed it white then because i couldn't get the same paint again in time as i wanted the car ready for max power live but i left the engine bay blue as the engine was back in at this stage and left the underbody of the car blue too.

Is that a Mk5 Escort? Is it the 4x4 version?

was originally a '96 MK6 RS Escort and coverted it to MK5 to allow the genuine cossie kit to fit. the car is FWD, didn't want a 4x4 for power reasons.

If you want rear discs, the common conversion is to swap your beam with drums with one with discs. It's not that difficult.

Rear beams with discs also have ARBs, which are a great upgrade, if you haven't got one already. Makes the car a great deal more secure on corners.

Looks a fabulous project mate, nice to see you've done it all, including underneath
