Default Track car for under 1k

I am looking for a track car for under 1k. I have seen a few with loads of work already done which is cool. I am starting to drift towards mk3 fiesta's. Really looking for advice, direction or sellers.

mk2 16v golf is your best bet, or a really clean 205 gti, either 1.6 or 1.9 both are good fun, ideally buy one that's been prepared for the track and had some use so that its ready to go. Dont even bother with a crappy Fiesta for the track.

Believe me I've used many different cars on the track and if its a £1k budget then forget the Fezza, nothing against them, but for £/fun on the track there are better choices.

£1k - pug or golf gti
£2k - lightly modified Nissan 200 sx S13 or for fwd Pug 106 rallye/xsi
£3k - BMW 3 series 6 cykiner with an lsd or Pug GTi 6 / Rallye
£5k plus loads of choice its up to what you prefer really

Best advice is buy one that already been pre'd for track use as you never get that money back if you start from scratch.

Good luck, Get out there and have some fun !

205 gti for me mate, everyday of the week, cheap and plentiful, handling's really good straight out of the box too, engine is strong provided its not got mega miles, and the bits are cheap. 1.9's the best bet, if a little more pricey than a 16, best case scenario would be a 19 non sunroof, but chances of finding one are slim!

it depends on what you like really. turbo-v6-v8-8v-16v etc...

£1k - golf gti :blonde: ,fiesta rst ,escort rst ,pug gti etc..
£2k - 325is,405 mi16,calibra turbo ,astra gsi etc...(all totally crap in my opinion but its up 2 u?)
£3k -saph cossie ,m5,300sx,pulsar etc.
£5k- what you prefer really, any thing you want for the price.
