cant realy understand why ford only made 4501..? the ford shops couldent get enough of them?? so why have thay stopped making them, the last one rolled off the german line with the number 4501 on it, anyone no???

laws of supply and demand.

Produce less than the demand - that way the price should hold.

just look at the RS500s - they still fetch 15grand today

 

I think its better that theres only a few. As said "price will stay high" which is good news really as scumbags wont get hold of them so much

 

it keeps the moel exclusive and not so common.

ford are out to make as much money as they can with there current car range. there not interested in cars they have already made in the past holding there value like S1 turbos , cosworths , rs500s theres no money in it for them they dont care they would rather they were all scrapped and everyone buy the new cars . the focus rs would of been stopped if it was not an earner and they wernt selling enough to make them feasible to make in the first place m8

 

do a search on autotrader most of em are for sale on there I found one for 16.9k might have to change cars soon

Actually there are 2 in Poland. One is private impot, the other is owned by Ford distribution Poland and you couldn't buy one, they weren't offered by Ford here :-(

 

Very simple reason the run was cut so short.

Ford wanted the RS to remain special and not become common as muck like Imprezza's are

You see a Focus RS and you think "ooh, special" See an Imprezza and you barely even register it apart from grabbing a quick peep at the mail order girlfriends

It was actually built as a brand image booster for Ford, lots of companies do it and make very little profit on them. The Nissan 350z for instance, the dealers don't make a penny on them and Nissan make a very slim profit margin. But they will lpater the tv in adverts even though they are already sold out for the rest of the year as it raises brand awareness..

Probably a lot more to it, but i'm no marketing monkey!

 

I got the money so you think it would be easy but upon informing my girlfriend on Sunday the Civic was a mistake (great car) but if i new how much Focus Rs's would of dropped I would of not bought the civic you would be amazed at how much of an argument can be started over a car I was meant to be saving for a loft conversion and a wedding one day in a few years time and she just doesnt understand the importance of a nice car as a toy women r so strange it just fuelled the lack of comitment argument I mean i had allready said my next car would be a Fiesta RS so not really much diff between that and the focus
