got quoted a price i thought was reasonable (especially considering new rocker gaskets are 13quid!) but just wanted to check wot you thought would be a normal price to charge (for a garage) as ive only ever done it myself before, and it takes me fookin ages coz i'm slow

If its a carb engine an hour. if its injected 1.5 hours. dont no what book time is but thats what i would charge if i were asked to do the job

do you have any idea how many sharp pointy things are to be found under those rocker covers? my hands seem to be "sharp pointy thing magnets" lately... and then its always nice to get petro or carb cleaner in the cuts, just to make the experience all that more special

 

actually, if you call "disconnecting the coil, turning the car over with the key for a split second, so the valves move a bit, THEN adjusting the tappets, without a clue if its TDC or not" then who's the stupid one
