Orange.. actually, i "Presumed" it was GPRS.. the 6680 is a 3G phone, so may be connected via 3G.. it doesnt really make it clear what its up to, it just works...
Got this info from orange website:
pay as you use:
MB used price per MB
0-3 £3.00
3-15 £2.00
15+ £1.00
1MB is approximately equal to:
• 160 wap pages
• or viewing 20 web pages
• or downloading 10 games
• or downloading one high quality music track
• or sending around 100 short emails each containing up to 100 words
• or sending/downloading up to four video clips
So not that bad really if you need to access the web on the move in times of emergency or you just want 30mins to catch up on something
And youve got to love how the nokia suite connects via bluetooth and lets you send your texts and e-mails from your phone but via the laptop
Oh how a man with no work gets bored
Even got tom tom mobile and route 66 working fine with full voice commands from my 6680 over the bluetooth car kit

what connection string are you sing to dialup up the phone? it'll be *99# something something also do you know what your at string is in modem options? will be +CDGCONT=1,2,3 or something...
thats how you can tell :P
i'd love a 3g phone but stuck with a GPRS one, so its a bit pony, but then all i use it for is emil and the odd remote desktop session

God knows Jim... thankfully its all sorted by Nokia PC suite version 6.16
Click on connect to phone... then choose what you wnat to do.. e-mail, text, transfer music, backup phone, connect to internet, and more... it just all works... very unusual for PC > Phone technology

deffo 3g! be carefull, with it being so fast youll run your bill up... lol god bless company paid-for contract phones
and Stu, GPRS used to be similar speed to GSM (ie 9.6) but recent(ish) upgrades in the existing infastructere mean you can get 56k speeds :top
GSM = 9.6k
HSCSD = 28.8k (GSM Call x2)
GPRS = 56k / 14.4k (down/up) [Theoretical max if they uncapped it would be just over 100k]
3G = 384k

I bought a Belkin PC card one for the laptop simply as i reckon with things hanging out the side of it im asking for trouble ina mobile environment
The cable that comes with the phone works flwlessly and is USB too, but ive got this thing in my head i want wireless interaction so went for getting the bluetooth to work instead, which, as it happens, was flawless anyway

aye, mobile working rules
stu, thought about linking everyithg up at work so you can get your map files off your servers at the garage whilst out on the road?
the onlything about mobile working is...
...you can work from anywhere
sounds odd, but if i CAN fix servers at 11pm ona sunday night, people will ring me and ask me to
the people who cant do it, wont get called

When im out on the road im usually mapping live so have no reason to be able to access chips. We already have FTP access for our dealer network.
As for you being in demand, try to thrive off it pal, its not a bad thing
