Default t3 turbo wastegate

do the penny washers inside the esrt wastegate housing wear??
reason i ask is that ive been loosing boost on my car and i took the housing off to see if this was the problem and i noticed that the washer will not sit flat against the hole as it appears to have worn.
when it is fully shut it is not level with the exhaust housing.
anyone had this trouble or knows a bit more about turbos??
thanks
Dave

Haven't seen one actually wear. Also the washer should be a bit loose so it will always sit flat.

thats the problem.
when you look at the elbow across the flange that would bolt to the exhaust housing the washer is at an angle so that it would only contact fully along one side.
as if its worn or bent.
thanks

Also look for cracks in the exhaust housing which can result in reduced boost

I had that problem on T34 i bought!! the spindle arm was bent slightly, so adjusted it with a small hammer and it moved more freely and seated properly.
