When did a car producing heat and flames become gay?

Things and gadgets that fill a purpose on the car aint gay. If you paint the heat shield golden im willing to change my mind.

Can someone explain to me, how a METAL heatshield, a material that conducts heat very well, can stop a plastic bumper its joined to from melting?

Same as alloy turbo heatshields.

All show, fuck all real use.

What makes that heatshield truly gay is the delicate arrangement of oakleaves on the bottom of the pic, how stylishly done!

Rubbish. They reflect radiated heat away. It's not all about conduction.

Yeah i thought they reflect more of the heat away Also some alloy heatshelids (under the bonnet) Have proper heat stuff stuck to the inside of them to give extra protection

You mis-understood me my friend, i think flames are indeed very

It's just that i'm not a great lover of the heat shields pop riveted to the bumper, thats all.

Although if my bumper carries on melting like it is i will have to get one too

LMAO

Andreas - should a heat sheild not go around the pipe on the bumper as well as surely that is where contact and maximum heat would radiate from?

The only place mine melted was where the actual pipe touched the bumper going through the bumper.

If you polish your glases or wear your contacts you will notice it does.
