There's a great book by an american scientist that regressed some woman without realising into loads of her previous lives, he also got to speak to these "masters" in her transition periods, or guides that are supposed to help you judge what you've done....

Think its called "Many Lives, Many Masters"... yeah checked on amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...303203-1642233

Very interesting, written by a complete non-believer.

My own beliefs are a bit different tho

There's a pretty tangible argument that the only reason for religion, is to give purpose to something otherwise pointless mankind clutching at straws...

total arrogance imo to believe in life after death, dont belive in religion or god or anthing else, why do we as in the human race believe we are so great that we have an after life, when nothing else does, same people prob believe that we are the only lifeforms in the universe

My family is religous and it worries me that they believe there is more....

Can't see the point in religion unless it help you mentally to be honest - spend your life worshiping god - to which no person on the planet can prove that it exists is beyond me - live life....you only get one.

i *do not* agree that we are the ONLY people in the universe, ofcourse its quite absurd!

Why would it be "us" then?

i have loads of arguments with our lass about it, i tell her this,
there are hundreds of religious groups and beliefs in this world aint there, buddah/alah/god blah blah blah, each group believes that there is the only one that is real, so they are all right ?..... bollox, reliogin causes 99/9% of all conflict/wars /fights/hate etc etc , imo it all stems from 1 person thousands of years ago who was like david icke except no one had anything else there life except making goats skin underpants, they tell people what they want to hear and the gullible will follow

i cannot say i am religious but i do believe tht it is not just the end when u die, i am very unsure about the concept of reincarnation even though it is a good idea. i find it incredibly frightening that there is a judgement day for everyone and that all the not so good things you have done in life can cause a terrible after life.........

What if ALL religions stemmed from the future?

What if in 10000 years time, man discovers time travel and comes back, one guy comes back as Jesus and cos he's so advanced he can heal the leppers, make wine from water....

Another guy comes back as Moses and has a REALLY powerful leaf blower that parts the Red Sea

Just an idea....

Lots of crappy reasoning on here that is nothing to do with the original question. Like the brain is distinct from the mind the soul is distinct from the body. When you die the brain dies, your body dies but your soul/spirit/whatever is not a function of the body but the mind.
I'm not affiliated to any religion but I have studied physics and one law states that energy cannot be destroyed only transferred from one form to another. So I'm not sure if I believe in life after death or rebirth but I'm sure there isnt jsut blackness and void.

there is no such thing as a soul, everything stems from your brain and you see, hear, taste, sense verything from your brain, and when that dies you are no longer anthing apart from worm food

Ghosts, much like life after death...

All a figment of the human mind.

There are a lot of flaws with the human mind, like why cant we get a hold of space, how can it possibly keep going and going? there has to be an end...

Why does there have to be an end? Because when we were young we were told everything must come to an end? I say bollox to that.

Once you die, theres most certainly nothing, you simply cease to exist.

But on a happy note it won't matter how you die, whether your tortured for months before you eventually die or if you pass away gently in your sleep. As you'll never remeber or be aware of how you died.

If you could imagine being a piece of dust squashed between 6000 acres of lead sandwich, thats about as much feeling or awareness of the world you'll have i.e. Nothing.

Im not a religious man, but when you see someone die at close hand and in there last moments the peace they find opens your eyes to things............ i believe theres more to life after death.
I also believe your life is already mapped out for you, most people must have had deja-vu a few times..... how can you remember something you dreamed about many years ago with people and places you didnt know come true..... or am i just a FREAK that gets this.......

LOLOL!!!!

The whole deja-vu thing has gotta do with your short term memory and your long term memory getting mixed up, so something in your short term memory gets put in your longterm memory and you think uve seen it before, just a brain fuck up really.

Or some bollox to that effect lol
