Default VW boys having their say

Check out the following link

Seems to be a few VW fans appreciating a Ford. Brings a warm feeling to your soul doesn't it? I wonder what the Ford boys will make of the photoshopped Series One?

They're actuall Schmidt TH Lines. I reckon Ronal Turbos could look quite sweet aswell. Maybe even some of those German style number plates too - although it would disguise the fact it's a D-plate a bit. These rims could look quite nice on a 3-dr too

I like those old ronal ones shaped like a teddy bear.

gotta admit, I'm a big fan of the euro look on veedubs and that S1 looks smooth the kit in to the body and lose the decals [much to the dismay of the ford boys I'm sure ]

The Mk4 looks cool, maybe a bit small on the back. If you think some Schmidt's would look good on the Cossie then I believe R&A Design bring them in. I read somewhere that they've started doing 17in and 18in versions now too.

in germany those wheels and others like the revolutions are available and alot of people do put them on there cars. I have been looking at this for a long time. So far the best i have seen is a fiesta mk1. They suit it soo much.

I will have to get my car out and post some pics.

check out this link for the 18inch version, and some other nice split rims..

im a bit of a fan of porsche wheels on vw's, weve not really explored using hub adapters in the ford world yet to fit other make wheels.

It makes some sense. Obviously VW guys go for Porsche and Audi rims because there are some links. Wonder if we could get away with Jaguar, Mazda or Volvo wheels

Flashpoint helped a guy from the Surrey RSOC drill his hubs out to accept some 5 stud rims [off a volvo T5, the general concensus was "why?" but Flashpoint like a challenge ], I think almost anythings possible?

You can get Schimdt TH lines in 19's and 20's as well now.

Why drill the hubs out? Why not just get hub adapters?

Fair enough. I may try Ronal Turbos as well, or maybe like some guy with a Mk4 Golf did, mac the centres of the Schmidt wheels another colour. Retro style's probably not to everyones taste, there's no point going Motorsport on it because I'm never going to drive it like a race car.

You'd be surprised what wheels suit different cars.

A mate of mine had a Mk1 Golf Cabby on BMW M3 rims - looked awesome!

orange indicators and no Max Poo plate would make it better tho
