Default What is my Saff engine worth???

Ok lets assume i put it together correctly

Right obviously everything included bar the intercooler/rad

Would make 600bhp easy @ 2.2 bar i reckon.

Std NEW crank balanced rods cossie racing pistons..2wd head ported to 26mm in 25mm out...proper cams for the power...7.9-1 comp ratio...all the correct bolts, wrc 4 layer gasket...swedish plenum 4 x 1000cc injectors gt35 with 1.06 ex housing and external wastgate...manifold to take it all....so complete can be heard running..sounds cool...NMS chip thats close to spec...so would need fine tunning from karl.

Please keep it here i want guide prices as i dont know wether i'd get more just stripping it....Please remember no one will buy it as the chimps who blow there own engines regular think they know more and actually still get trusted ..So please stay away

How much does a std rebuild cost?
tough one but the parts just to take the engine apart and not touch the bearings are 400 quid

bearings are 230ish, pump you know about ( cheers again ), then the pistons, machining and the tea bags and plasters ( the cossie blocks are fooking sharp inside aint they )

gets to be even more if ya discover the bearings aint the fault but the rods are a tiny bit bent

Ryan if a std rebuild is 3k not including turbo inlet etc etc etc etc etc how can it be worth 4k? ...plus i suspect the 3k rebuild is basically rebuilding your OWN engine...this is NON exchange!!!

Although saying that....it cost me around 6.5k to get everything...so i guess Ł5.5k is realistic!

basically phill, for anyone that wants peice of mind there going to strip it down anyway, so certain things are going to have to be bought again.

so yeah i guess 4-5k for everything is pretty reasonable

hhmmmmm, things are starting to ponder over in my head.

people look at things in different ways lee
if all the parts came to Ł6.5k and i bought it complete for Ł5k all built up then personally i think i would be getting a bargain
all jokes aside i would be happy enough that phil built up the engine correctly

i disagree pops, you pay the extra money for the legal guarantees you get when buying something off a trader...

buying the same thing for a similar price privately, especially of someone as "reliable" as phil (and no im not digging your business, just your personality) would see like bad value for money imho.

well, i admire your trust in phil. As stated, unless minty fresh i wouldnt put the engine in even built by a Pro....

i Do belive phil has put it together well, and it would no doubt make the figures. But, if it went bang i would fuck myself for not getting it donr again! As said, peice of mind n all that

pops, yes but if it went bang and a pro built it you have some legal standing with regards to getting it sorted (even tho 9/10 its not easy getting anythng)

phil would have no legal obligation to do f**k all if it went wrong

course it could..not disputing the fact. But, i would know it wasnt Phil, and wouldnt be throwing the blame at him, or myself. If it went bang, id expect whover built it to strip it, and if it was a mechanical fault not a ignition or fuelling fault, id expect it built again as it was their fook up... I wouldnt knock on phils door expecting this!

no chance of getting a refund or fixing from any tuner if it goes bang, what ya get is peace of mind, unfortunatly theres sooooo many not so skilled people about i woul rather a competant person work on my car who has a passion as a hobby to do it and not a way to pay the bills, even big tuners have horror stories , some aint even there fault too

lee os that a personal reason or a general mechanic and are you totally sure considering the parts are 6500k to buy

for most members of the public no tuner garantees a engine that they aint suplied the parts for
