i have bought a new amal valve from ford and ive fitted it but its clicking all the time and i cant seem to get it 2 stop ??....its quite fast clicking 2..any ideas ???... or shall i disconect it all together and run a bleed valve...help...

 

To be honest I'd run a bleed valve. I've had nothing but grief with the amal valves. I'd take it back to ford and say its faulty which it is as it shouldn't be clicking all the time.

Mine did this too...

I just disconnected it and used a bleed valve

 

Bad earth can be the problem! Did a turbo conversion on an orion once. Turned on ignition and everything ran fine but amal valve would click on and off like mad. Turned out one of the earths on the bulk head wasnt connected properly.

Also had this on my cossie when we put in a dud chip in the ECU.

 

mad clicking amal valve can be caused by the vacuum pipe that runs to the ecu been trapped and the ecu cannot tell if the car is under vacuum or pressure.
have a look to check its not trapped where it goes under the heater box, its worth a look.
