cossie vs erst
Just wanted to know who is right between my mate and i. The question is an Escort cossie with say 250 bhp and an Escort cab turbo with 250 bhp who would win a 0-60 or 1/4 mile run?
RST would kick the ar5e of a 2wd saff in everything at the same power. I reckon it would be a pretty safe bet between a 330bhp saff and a 250bhp RST, that the one with 4 doors would be looking at the rear of the one with 3!!

Evening Dingy.Anyone seen Mystic Meg?? I think the outcome of this thread is somewhat predictable.
An Escos is always going to have better Standing start acceleration, but from a 40mph Rolling Start, I think you would still need 100bhp on top of the Escos to whoop the Bean Tin.
C&B why was his time faster @ pod then
I am past caring bout bean tin's and speed since one the the best RST's in the country aint been picked for TOTB III
Just goes to show it aint the best cars, its who you know....

So what i am really after is i have a hopefully 300+ bhp escort cossie and he has a escort cabriolet turbo with a zvh conversion running nearly 250bhp so he reckons so who would win?????

Personally I would have thought the Cossie would have far more torque being a larger 16v engine?
Was in a stage one 2wd saphire cossie the other night and it murdered an RST all the way through the gears. Obviously I dont know the state of tune of the RST but it wasnt in the same league as the cossie.

if we talkin same power @ wheels then beantin is only faster coz it weighs less...
make the esccos weigh as much as the beantin and they both got same power at wheels then esccos will win due to superior (i assume) aerodynamics, and MUCH better traction...

I would say the Cos will launch harder and with less fuss than the bean tin and My money would be firmly on the Cossie to 60mph over the 1/4 I would say the RST
IIRC the esc cos gets more drag than an ERST
A REAL 250Bhp in a esc cab would prob snap it clean in half
and if it did haver that much power it wouldnt be going round corners too quick!
From a standing start i can see the cos getting a much better start as it has 4X4 but once rolling the RST 'should' be able to catch up quickly and 'have it' easily by the 1/4 mile marker
