Vernier Pulleys questions
I have replaced the headgasket and cambelt on me car.
My car has vernier pulleys fitted.
before we took head and belt off we marked them all up and made sure they were alighned visually as best we could.
the car runs fine, but im just wondering if it could potentially cause any probs and if i need to get them checked by a pro. ?
any info greatly appreciated

the point of vernier pulleys is so that you can time the cams correctly - this does not always mean that they should align with the TDC marks. it depends on your engine spec and cam spec, but it may be better to advance or retard the cam timing compared to std, although best for std may not be where the timing mark indicates.
i didnt explain what i did correctly.
my verniers have allready been setup
i set the car to tdc and then made my own marks on the cams
when i put it all back together i lined up my own marks not the tdc marks on the pulleys

If you have dialled them in slightly wrong (ie slightly different to how they were) then you will need it remapping ideally, but i suspect in reality they wont be out by enough to need that.
Is it a thicker head gasket?
If so that will need a remap too!
Best bet might be to pop up to karls just for a very quick livemap to check all is still as it should be?
