phoned cylinder head developments and for the top bollox stage 3 head fully ported and polished, big valves etc etc with full kent 35 cam kit,,

its £740 but he says its the best rs turbo head you can buy???

what other prices have you lot paid for a fully worked head includig cam kit etc?? & who did you get it from?

Is that a fitted price? If so, that is not too bad, but I wouldn't use a Kent Cam if it was me...

As an example, my head alone cost roughly around the price you said

i paid £850 for my pumarcaing 45mm valve head plus £310 for a custom newman cam

I guess you could have a point...

I had a Vulcan *cough cough* head on the car last time, so did Mr C. We both had very bad misfires above 5000 rpm. After the engines were taken apart it was found that the valve seats were all at the wrong angle which was causing the misfires at high rpm.

Good firm they are

power engineering do a good deal, and i like thier cams too, i had one few years back, could be a look, or burton power

Power Engineering heads are made by Vulcan, as are all their engines

maybe they wasnt in 94 when i had mine fit, ok well i dont know then, lol

btw im going back to a STANDARD cam

It was around 2000 that Powers stopped doing engines IIRC

why did they ? not enough demmand or just shite? my engine was pulling around 230 on the rollers , i was impressed at the time , and its still running today

Because their engine builder hurt his back from lifting engine parts all day. They then started to sub the work to Vulcan. I guess it was cheaper than to employ another guy. The original engine builder still works at Powers.

If you order a PE BVH it will just be a Vulcan one with a PE price tag.

Another thing to remember is what flows well on the bench dont always flow well on the car

I'd only ever go for an NMS head myself,Look at the cars running these and you'll see why
