Default Remote central locking.....

If you have a car with central locking already, but only from a key, what do you need to fit to be able to do it from a remote/fob?

when I did my XR2 I fitted a remote box to the kit for the central locking, it just splices in to the central locking loom, easy enough to do

You can buy remote central locking kits. Comes with everthing you need. However if you have dead locks there's a bit more wiring involved. But its all possible

I'm looking into this for my RS2000. Going to ford on friday to see how much it is for the bits to upgrade my standard alarm to a remote central locking one. I belive its just new keys, central locking 'brain' Reciever (in interior light) and possibly a loom.

Thats the thing. I ain't got an alarm on the car, nor do I plan on getting one (it's a POS boggo Orion ) but it'd be nice to have a reciever in there and a fob to activate the central locking.....

Even a lot of the cheapo alarms will do remote c/l. An alarm could be fitted for as little as Ł200

I found that, but I don't need all the motors etc, as I already have central locking, so I don't need to convert.... I just want an interface (if you like) so it can be activated by a fob...
