Default Leaking oil..!?

Ay!

My engine has started leaking oil a new place among thousands of other places so i guess i need to replace the part that is leaking!?

I took a pic to make it easier for yall to help me..



What is the name of this part?? and what does it do?? It only leaks oil when engine is running.

the arrowed part is the oil pressure switch(its what makes your oil light go out) it could either be leaking through the switch or the thread of the switch if its not tight enough! you could take it and put PTFE tape around the thread to see if that works before getting a new switch.

ok.. thanks but i think im buying a new one... might as well do it perfect..

i hope its not a expensive part

a little question: will the oil start coming out when i remove the switch??

the switch is not expensive,probably under a fiver! you might get a little dribble of oil running out,but nothing to worry about!

just fitted a new switch and had the engine running for 10 minutes... seems like it does'nt leak anymore

one leak down... one million to go
