I've had plenty of fan problems recently so I'll have a bash at laying down what I know...

As the fans get worn, they use more current, this puts more stress on the wiring, and let's face it the wiring is probably about 15 years old by now anyway right? So... I dunno, best bet maybe replace the fans with new items, and replace the wiring too? I'm not the expert though but someone round here will know

i would check the wiring first. if there is much resistance on wiring, replace it.

then there is two choises after that. buy new fan, or clean and renew old one.

hi mate, fan problems are quite common on cossies , the best thing to do is to rewire them straight from the battery through a fuse then a relay , if you look through some old posts you will see that this problem has come up loads of times before - in fact i solved my problem after someone (can`t remember who now ) posted up a wiring diagram - he even makes and supplys the necessary looms but to be honest it`s dead easy - have a scoot through some old posts they make for interesting reading.

cheers karl

you can make new "bearings" for your fan, if you want to renew old fans. its not that hard job to do, but you must know what you do. the noise is propably the bearings on your fans. i have have that in my 3dr. i will renew my fans, just for the fun of it.

but the fans are quite cheap, so maybe new fans would be smarter. changinf those fans, are easy job.
