Is a dump valve needed if using a GT35 with ext wastegate?

I know a T4 must have one but not sure on these.

Went for another Bailey as I already had 1.

The reason being that the GT35 flows so much air, that if this was not vented off with a d/v on a closed throttle, it would snap the shaft of the turbo as it tried to stall it as it flowed back into the compressor the wrong way.

 

I know that knobby was just going along with the joke
