Default 4x4 Saph Rear end knocking ....Help ????

My 4x4 Saph has developed a knocking noise coming from the rear of the car. The noise is a clonking when you take up and come off drive. It has done this for a while now but i,m sure its getting worse. It definately sounds like there is a lot of slack being taken up somewhere but i,m not sure where.

Its too bloody hot to start messing about under there at the moment so does anyone want to hazard a guess at the likely cause

Any ideas would be helpfull, Cheers Gaz
