Default Bhp amount for sub 14s????

Hi everyone

I was just wondering how much bhp you would need to get sub 14 1/4 miles? I presume that the erst weighs under a tonne same as the mk3/4/5 fez's. Just a rough estimate as i realise there are a fair few other factors in play.

Cheers

With 212@wheels in damp conditions my car ran 13.9's.

That was full interior, 17" wheels, Toyo Proxies, with Koni suspension kit, using a Quaiffe Atb diff.

Best thing to sort out before upping the bhp is getting adjustable TCA's, Quaife ATB with decent gearbox that can take hard launching, decent paddle clutch (alcon or AP - take your pick as everyone seems to disagree as to what's good or not) and make sure you stick some 14 or 15" wheels on when on the strip - road legal slicks are best but everyone has their own choice of normal road going tyres that are best.

Polybushing all the front end will probably help as well - include a strut brace in there for it too.

Oh and probably best once you've got all that stuff fitted to get it corner weighted by a garage that knows their onions

Gav Stylianou is knocking on the door of 13s and is running something like 210bhp or so - with all the stuff I've listed above he'll be well into them!

Cheers,

Andy

180odd bhp in a full weight mk2 fiesta on remoulds.

Il put money all of the above times that needed 200+bhp was on normal road tyres and so on.

If you can actually grip your times will plummet even with feck all extra power.
