Having carrying out an oil change at the weekend I have mistakenly over filled the engine with oil which is now dripping from seems to be the crank shaft seal on the gearbox side.
What I need to know is that if it is leaking from the crankshaft seal does it mean that it needs replacing or does it mean that if I remove some of the oil back to the maximum fill level will it cure the problem?
Any help will be appreciated.
Andy

I think once the gearbox is out and flywheel off its fairly simple.
You will then need to remove the seal carrier, which is just an ally part which the seal sits in.
replace the seal and fit the parts back on.
Time comsuming but should be a fairly straight forward job.
