was thinking of doin my clutch on the erst, iv been told by garages that tha mechanical abs makes it a hard job to do , how hard is it? or do you think its a garage job, just thinking of the pennys

How competant are you - what other stuff have you done ?

 

Its not that easy, as Yes, ABS does make it a whole lot harder.

I wouldn't take it on, if I had to do it on my back.

 

ive done the head gasket twice and put the piper 285t2 in

I changed mine on the XR2 this sat. All I had was a mate who knew what he was doing and it was no problem. And he had only done it twice before.

We did take 7 hours to do it, but we were taking it easy and not really in much of a rush.

 

With a book such as a Haynes manual with you I'd say it would be worth a go if you want to save money.

If you have a half decent tool set and a mate to help then you will never learn if you dont try.

The hardest thing to do would possibly be re aligning the new clutch plate so the splines go in okay first time.

As above allow at least a full day (or weekend) tho
