Default Starting up a new engine advise

Ok the 2.1ZVH is about ready to start! Just wanted to ask peoples advise on the process. This is what I was going to do.. baring in mind the engine has been for a year or so without being started.

1. Take the cam cover off and give the cams some lube.

2. Stick it in forth and roll the car forward and looking at the fan belt etc to make sure it hasn't seized.

3. Fill up with cheap thick oil with oil filter off.

4. Disconnect the coilpack, the crank sensor and injector rail and crank the engine untill oil pours out of the oil filter.

5. Screw on the oil filter and disconnect the oil feed on the top of the turbo and start cranking again untill I get a couple of pints etc come through the oil feed pipe.

6. Connect the oil feed to the turbo and disconnect the oil return from the turbo and crank a few more times to clear the turbo.

7. Then reconnect everything and completly shitting myself start the engine.

If all goes well and the engine starts up what next? run the engine for how long? run it around the block? (bareing in mind no tax or MOT)

What other advise can people offer? I have I missed anything?

Also just a thought?... when I do the cranking thats obviously going to be a strain on the battery should I back up the battery with my mobile starter pack??

Wish me luck!

personally, i'd sacrafice the fuel pressure until the engine is running, as not knowing what the oil is up to on first startup could be a very expensive mistake...
