Been in Auto Trader for 3 weeks 4 weeks ago - got 3 phone call's and 1 visit.

In again 3 weeks ago and fook all, not even a anonomous call

Any suggestions?

7k is all of its money dont forget there are loads of these about ex company cars etc which will be a lot cheaper than yours

This is a genuine post asking for advice. It HAS been in the For Sale room for weeks.

I was offered £7200 as a trade in only 6 weeks ago, so privately i would of thought a little more?

Dont low mileage and condition count for nothing these days

 

Try parking it in your local tescos or b&q car park for a day near the entrance cos no one wants to hang round with a trolley of shopping a nice big sign and hey presto you should generate some interest! would have thought it would have sold being tdci

 

If you want a fast sale offer it under 8k. Going rate

 

I've looked at it a couple of times mate,looks a bloody nice car at a good price, but think i'm gona live in my house for a couple of months and see how i get on £ wise to see how much i can get a loan for

Twins, I done that for the past Thurs, Fri and Sat. Treated my self to a couple of sunbeds and parked it on a main busy road and window shopped in Dartford leaving it on the busy high street!!!!

No calls will only be down to one thing IMO.. price
I was selling my girlfriends mini and the interest was fuck all no calls, nothing until we dropped the price then it was a whole different story non stop calls. The car market is pretty dead at the moment and there is so much choice esp in Focus's. We sold the mini only £300 above trade. Have you tried ebay? had move response from that then the trader. I'd start low eg £2995 with a reserve of £7500 the interest your get will hopefully sell it above reserve.

To be honest, when pricing cars, a lot of the time you can ignore Parkers.

If you're selling private, I've always found that just looking at as many ads as possible always helps.

For example, when we bought my brothers Alfa GTV, Parkers had the price 2k off what they were selling for!

The only real way to judge the market price is to look at the market.

 

Remember the early 90's - insurance nightmare days - Porsche 911 Turbos valued by Parkers at under £3K, Cossies similar.
