Hiya guys I really love this site its ace! I have been viewing it for a while now and have learnt a lot and got many ideas. Unfortunately I only have a 1.3 popular rs look-a-like (due to insurance costs while im at uni), but its only done 47k and its mint, I love it!

Anyway my insurance is due and I was woundering if it would be possible to get on a classic policy? What are the criteria for a car to be able to get a classic policy? Bearing in mind that im 19 and the car would probably be classed as modified! Anyone know of any that may consider me?

i have two mk4 escorts, both on classic policy. one is an rs turbo, the otherb is a xr3i with turbo conversion.
criteria is based on model not spec, any escort up to 1990 is classic

 

nightmare at that age mate, you might get it for Ł1500 if you're very lucky; most are +21 and even HIC are now saying +25

 

its your age which will be the killer. im with Heritage they do classic insurance and because im in the RS owners club i get a discount.
