for what reason would someone remove the valves and other stuff if the head casting itself is ok. i might be interested if you know the state of the casting.

dont agree that its scrap.
even though the head may be line bored, when you actually fit the cams in to a head you will see that there is no dowelling to locate the caps anyway.
further, the stud holes on the caps are 8mm and 8.5mm so the stud going through the 8.5mm stud cap hole allows for a large amount of movement which would surely render the line boring irrelevant in terms of cap location.
what the line boring does ensure however, is that a perfect semi circle exists in the head casting and another one in the cap. when you tighten the caps down with a cam shaft fitted, and considering the spring pressure trying to force the cam against the caps, it looks like the cam is used to locate the caps!
on that basis you could for example overdrill the 8mm stud hole on any cap and use it on any head in the knowledge that it would be located by the cam as the cam settled into its perfect semicircular bearings in the head.
still better to have the originals of course and diffcult to see anyone payiny waht you are asking.
pm me if you will take less

thats very cheap if its not a scrap head.
not really. you still need all the other bits to be able to use it. in fact you need another 'scrap head'
