what would win?
out of a mk2 golf gti(16v) and a mk 6 escort gti!?
My mate seems to think, and i quote, " i'd kick your arse mate".!!(in his golf)
Its standard-ish apart from exhaust and some kind of air filter, same goes with mine.
Who would win!?

what power is the golf as standard?
Escort will be.. 115ps? maybe 120 if your lucky with your mods?
But.. at a guess.. id say the golf would win..

Golf I'd say. Mk2 was not too lardy. They got lardy with Mk3 and Mk4 is just a fat pig.

Depending on which version it is, the Golf will either be in the region of 115bhp or 150bhp. If the former, I'd say it'd be close and down to driver-skill; if the latter, I'd say the Golf would wipe the floor with the Escort (as long as both drivers are of roughly equal skill).

Mk2 Golf Gti 16v has 139 bhp as standard. I had one before my cossie and it comfortably beat Escort Gti's in the traffic light grand prix.
Standrad Rs Turbos couldnt beat me either
