Fao Mike Rainbird, oh dear, you wont like this
After the grilling you gave Cally for buying a sticker when she had only been round as a passenger (cause we were in Johns car and she wasnt on the insurance) i have a feeling this might annoy you a little!!!

And you should remove the writing aparently, as anyone who needs the name on there to know what it is isnt worthy of talking to anyway.
Mike told me off for putting a sticker on john's car with the writing on it

but how many of you that have driven the nordschelife have the complete sticker on that includes the gp circuit? if you haven't driven the gp as well (like us lucky people did at easter
), then you should cut that portion off the bottom.

My mate did a 8.40something lap in his 1.8T FWD golf with only 200bhp, and its not stripped or anything, just a perfectly ordinary road car.
Doing 8 mins is pretty easy with a bit of practice.
TBH practice on the track actually counts far more than being a decent trackday driver, even a very average trackday driver could get an 8 in a reasonable car with a few dozen laps practice, but you would have to have balls of steel to manage the same on your first ever lap even if you were a very competant driver indeed.
How quick you are round the nurburgring is mainly dependant on how many times you have been round it before, more than how good you are on other tracks etc.

That's why I always said that being fast on such a long circut on first laps needs rallydriver not track-day or even circut racing driver

At least they're proper ones!
You should see the dodgy copies that are kicking around on ebay!
Yes, it is a discrace to have a sticker unless you've driven it, thats what I keep telling my two passengers from the trip anyhow!!
And, if you think you can do a sub 9min lap in an 'average' car after a dozen laps then you're either very much mistaken or talking about someone who's a complete nutcase behind the wheel, with a deathwish!

so i rang turbosystems to get it booked in for 2k's worth of work, group A carb, uprated ( read strapped
) and get 200 break and get it chipped like there show car that i had seenthe guys reply on the phone "was we aint worked on them for over a year, we dont have a R5GTT show car either, sorry about that"
i kept seeing the car about and never spoke to him again but he should be shot for false advertising

My mate had the idea of sticking a fucking huge Ring sticker on my front windscreen, then as we were going round he'd point at it following corner by corner!! This is, however, the same friend of mine who suggested he should by a velcro suit so he doesn't fall of the seats when going round on track, nuff said!!
Azrael, sorry mate. no can do until my cossie parts are rebuilt into another shell. haven't managed to find a workshop to do it yet, so could be some time. maybe in september? 10th is a big meet at the 'ring, the day before the european ford event in holland.

Fully loaded, with 3 people in the car, compelte with stereo equipment etc
8:fortysomething after less than 12 laps.
Bmw M3, bog standard, less than a dozen laps, 8:fiftysomething
Thats a couple of the lads that i knew who went over when we went last.
So i stand 100% by my statement, good driver in average car = sub 9 mins
(i mean of course average car for a trackday, not a 1.4 corsa)
Although saying that, i know someone who after 6 laps was almost under 9 mins in his 1400 nova too, but thats far from standard

Chip,
I did one reminder lap to make sure it was the same as i learned from the video and then did an 8:43 3 up with damp sections of the track.
