Fuel Pump relay gone tits up?
Pinky/purple one under driver side dash - they do melt and will fail

Regards to the pump itself, get a pair of clamps and close the hose just before it gets to pump

Other thing worth doing, put some new connections on the fuel pump, I do mine every year as they only go rusty/corrode and cause all sorts of issues

Test things before assuming they are fucked mate! Saves repairs getting expensive. Have you checked the fuse? The pink relay sometimes fails but these can be repaired if you know how.

Under your drivers side dash, will be 3 relay's located on a row of clips
Easy to find, just make sure it goes back in the clip properly or it'll cause loose connections and burn then eventually die
