Anyone changed metal brake pipes for braided?
Hi , im going to be putting braided flexi brake pipes on my car due to being easier to make up as i have none on the car at the mo, but i need to know how many metres i need and how many and which fittings to get? any help would be gratefully recieved. The car is a series 2 rs turbo without abs as it was taken off and a non abs master cylinder fitted.
Flexi lines in place of solid introduce flex into the system where it is not required. This increases pedal travel and decreases pedal feel/sensitivity.
Buy about 4m of CuNiFe (Cunifer) lines and you should be OK. If you're going to do the work, it might be worth thinking about installing a brake bias adjuster and splitting the lines to a front/rear system instead of diagonal. Lose the rear bias adjusters, and fit stainless braided hoses between caliper and chassis (where flex is needed).
