I think once you reach a certain age you become to realise that you are no longer of the boy racer fraternity and so go out and buy a vehicle that suits ones self image.

Phil,don't despair it comes to us all in the end,the realisation that we are not getting any younger and we must stop doing certain activitys that we oncecould get away with.Are you married mate?This can also explain the loss of interest,basically come about by a nagging wife who wants a people carrier,which in its self is a very bad sign as if you was a secret jaffa you are about to be found out!

Hello Phil,i have apologised on the other thread.May i just explain,when i women wants a people carrier they normally are going through a phase of wanting children and are telling you in an arse about face way,now the little bit of humour i added was that if you were of the seedless variety and your wife never knew this,it could be end of marriage time.Of course it was meant in the best possible taste,please excuse the Kenny Everret line.I hope you share the humour.

Sound good, but as with ALL Audis not the greatest driver involvement. I know QST at Haywards Heath chip them up to around 600bhp very easily.

Well well, never thought you'd sell up Tiff!! But have to say the RS6 is one hell of an estate!! My boss drives one so i see it regularly, very nice!

 

I can understand why Tiff wants to sell his Cossie - it's because he has reached the stage where it is just too fast for the road. If he uses the power, je will definitely get locked up or the very least, loose his licence.

His only choice is to get it on track, but as he's a bufty, that is not his scene, so there is no point in having an expensive ornament in the garage .

Personally, if I didn't do the track days / Nurburgring trips I do, then I would have sold my car a long while ago, as it is pretty pointless to have such an extreme machine on today's congested roads otherwise...

 

Everybody is ditching their fast Fords in favour of something more sensible

Muggins here has both an Audi and an RST and one of them has to go It's the Audi that's going as we are about to purchase another RS Turbo. Done the sensible car thing and got bored.

yeah but not for a while, we're gonna buy a newish focus, and look for an escos later in the year

 

Good stuff. Beleive me though you will get bored of the sensible car. I promised not to touch Alfie when we got him (Why do women always name cars? ). Rims, springs, filter, exhaust and a sound system excluded I've stayed true to my word

 

 

Well said Mike Rainbird.The maximum limit for a road only Cosworth is around the 330bhp stage 3 conversion,reliable and fast,plus properly spec'd hardly any lag.

 

So why are you going for 600bhp then Phil if you never intend to use it anywhere BUT on the road?
