A question about a Cosworth valve
Please excuse my ignorance if the question i am about to put upon you good people of PassionFord,is a common fact.A standard cosworth valve, has anyone ever known one to break?I dont mean by dropping or hitting a piston,i mean break as in head snaps off?I have always wondered wether you ever have to replace them if undamaged.Does the fact the item is a two piece affair have any bearing on strength once of the older variety?I do thank you dear chaps sincerely with your eagerly awaited replies.
Cheers.
Cheers.
Never heard of them snapping, bending yes (I have 16 in my workshop to prove this).
Only reason you may have to replace them that I can think of other than them being bent is that cleaning and cutting them in may leave the metal too thin, thus making them more fragile.
Exhaust ones are hollow, i.e. filled with sodium, so I guess the metal can't be too thin.
HTH.

So we are entering a war of words?I was being polite asking if i could be so bold as to on my first occassion call you Tiff. Now to me Tiff doesnt sound like a first real name,so i deceided to ask as it sounds more of a nickname, and many dont like complete strangers calling to them by this.I hope it clears this tricky situation up?
