Default New job probs....

Ive just moved to Corby in Northants and have been looking for a new job. I applyed to this body shop as a sprayer/prepper. The problem is im aircraft trained rather than car trained. Saying that ive just finished a year at Aston Martin working on the prep line. Do i just go and try to blag it or do i come clean and tell them what ive done so i dont look like a geek when they ask me to do somthing i cant do..........

What do you think?

Smudge.

think you should have come clean at the interview rather than saying you worked for Aston Martin couldnt you have gone for someone a little less exotic than Aston?

So do you mean you HAVE just finished a year at Aston???

Personally i would come clean, express your skills strongly and be optamistic that you can take on new tasks or adjust your skills to suit the job.

If they don't want you atleast you'll know rather than getting the job and getting the push a week later and feeling like at tit.

If your honest then if something does pop up that you aren't able to do you can say so and learn how to.

Hope it goes well.

Look at it from their point of view. You've worked for Astons. You're evidently good enough to work elsewhere in terms of work quality. If you have area missing from youir skills tell them, but let them know you want to learn.

Sounds better than just acting cocky and you know it all.

Tell them the truth, my friend owns a sprayshop in Northants and he is sick to the back teeth of muppets claiming to be experienced, starting to work for him and realising they havn't even got a clue how to prep.

IMO you have the basic skills anyone would be looking for so its not like you'll be out-doing yourself of decent work.
